Continuum of Sanctions

In 1991, CJAD and the Judicial Advisory Council (JAC) created the Texas Intermediate Sanctions Bench Manual, emphasizing the use of the Continuum of Sanctions. The purpose of a continuum of sanctions is to provide the officer with a variety of sanctions that aid in supervising offenders in the community as long as possible or practical. The Continuum of Sanctions includes programs and services that are either operated by the Department or contracted from the community.
